My name is Dave Chobanoff; for the past ten years, I have been a participant/fundraiser for Penn State Health Children’s Hospital through Children’s Miracle Network and Extra Life. Within those years, I have raised over $20,000 during my time with Extra Life.
In April of 2022, my wife and I had the honor and privilege to be chosen by CMN Hershey to represent them at #extralifeunited2022; during this trip, it was so moving and life-changing and seeing the magnitude of what CMN does on a grand scale, makes me want to do more! So, I wanted all my peeps to be part of it.
By that August, we had our first-ever Putting For Miracles Miniature Golf Tournament for Children’s Miracle Network. We had over 60 participants and almost 30 local sponsors, including 20 sponsored holes. Thanks to the efforts of the community and friends, we raised over $5,000 for the Penn State Children’s Hospital of Hershey.
In the spring of 2023, we kicked off our First Annual Putting For Miracles tournament. We hosted over 20 vendors and four food trucks. We expanded our team of volunteers to a dozen, and within a few hours, our tally for the 2023 event was outstanding; all 36 holes were sponsored, and over 100 participants. Those who participated and volunteered received a custom T-shirt. We had overwhelming support from local businesses for raffle items and total sponsorships overall! With everyone’s contributions and help, we raised over $10,000 in May to help “Change Kids Health” at CMN Hershey!
As always, it takes a team to make things go smoothly. For the 2022 event, our team was a little disorganized; we had 3 months to prepare. But for the 2023 event, we most of our ducks in a row and was able to delegate shares of the responsibilities to others. Without a team behind it all, 2023 would've not gone so well, I can guarantee that I am very appreciative of all the volunteers who took time out of their Saturday (and then some) to help us achieve our success. - Dave
We are stepping up our game AGAIN! The ante has been raised! Mark your calendars for May 18th, 2024; we are very excited to announce that, thanks to Keystone Cornhole ACL, we have expanded and added a cornhole tournament that will be run concurrently with the mini-golf tournament. Again, we would like to thank Leisure Lanes for use of their facility during the festivities.
Whether you have been a part of this adventure from day one or just joined us last year, we want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us help the children within our community. As it says in Psalm 127:3, “Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him.”
Our efforts to help the children will go even further with your company’s support. Whether that is a raffle item donated, a sponsorship, or maybe a foursome, or if you just help spread the word, we would be appreciative. All proceeds will benefit CMN Hershey and are tax-deductible. This event is several months away, giving you time to decide and plan to offer your support. Please make checks payable to “Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.”
Here are some needs/ways to contribute to the event:

We also anticipate some surprise guests from Penn State Children's Hospital joining us for a meet and greet. Please consider sponsoring to help “Change Kids’ Health, Change The Future.” With your contributions, you will be directly helping our community’s children. We thank you for your time, consideration, and support. We are asking for sponsors/teams to be signed up by mid-March. If you have any questions, please contact us or the Facebook Page below.
